Tea lovers have something extra to celebrate this Mid Autumn Festival as the widely loved Chinese teahouse BaWangChaJi is releasing perfect teas to pair with your delicious mooncakes!
This new Tie Guan Yin Series features three of the best teas to pair with mooncakes, made using the An Xi Tie Guan Yin Tea Leaf (安溪铁观音) which boasts a fantastic fragrance that puts it at the top 10 among the best quality chinese teas.
Armed with the incredible tea, BaWangChaJi then set forth on a 50-day exploration of tests and trials to create the best brew to perfectly complement the saccharine sweetness of a mooncake.
Experiments included various combinations of Tie Guan Yin tea with cheese as well as fresh milk to find the perfect balance where the unique, cloying notes of the Chinese tea isn’t overwhelmed by the rich flavour of other ingredients.
There’s also that perception of Tie Guan Yin as a traditional beverage with a common taste that BaWangChaJi wants to dispel.
What they’ve come up with is three special-tea brews; Tie Guan Yin Macchiato (水月观音), Tie Guan Yin Milk Tea (清沫观音) and Cold Brew Tie Guan Yin (倾晨)!
Director of BaWangChaJi Malaysia Jack Chong is especially pleased with the Tie Guan Yin Series, explaining that pairing a healthy cup of tea with the sweet mooncake will make for a pleasant dining experience.
It is better to pair with mooncakes that are high in sugar calories with a good cup of premium quality tea. You can match them with any categories of our Tie Guan Yin Series, which actually helps you to relieve the greasy taste and improve digestion.
said Jack Chong, Director of BaWangChaJi Malaysia.
Malaysians can enjoy the beau-tea-ful drinks from 1st October onwards at BaWangChaJi outlets nationwide from RM11.90 to RM15.90.
