Port Klang’s Pandamaran police station will undergo sanitisation after it was reported that the policemen there were exposed to undocumented migrants who tested positive for Covid-19.

The four individuals were among the 77 Indonesians detained on 14 September for trying to sneak into the country via the Pulau Ketam sea route and were being held at the police station before the infection was detected.

South Klang OCPD ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli said to The Star that they are being treated at the Sungai Buloh Hospital while the exposed policemen are now being quarantined.

He also said that those who came into contact with the four people will have to undergo tests.

He said the process of detaining the undocumented migrants was carried out according to the standard operating procedure (SOP) set by the Ministry of Health.
