Kedah’s Kota Setar Latest Area Under EMCO Until 25 September

Kedah’s Kota Setar district will be the latest area placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) starting tonight until 25 September after an increase in Covid-19 cases, said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
It’s reported that the decision was made after cases have increased in the state especially in existing clusters – Tawar, Sivagangga, Sungai.
The lockdown will around 366,787 people in 28 districts and entry through the international entrance at Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah will be stopped until the end of the period.
Ferries from Kuala Kedah jetty are also not allowed to operate and all mosques, educational institutions are ordered to close, while sports, social and cultural activities are prohibited during that period.
