A non-profit organization in Penang received a pleasant surprise when a man showed up at the door with a RM1,400 donation.

According to their Facebook post, the man walked up to the House of Hope to repay his gratitude.

The man recounted how the House of Hope had helped him many years ago, giving him RM1,400 to help with his daughter’s education.

Because of that act of charity, he was able to help his daughter pursue a career in the medical field, and proudly announced that she is now a medical doctor in Kedah!

As his daughter has since taken over the responsibility of caring for her family, the man wanted to give his thanks to the charity that made this possible for her, which is why he wanted to return the RM1,400 given to him by the NGO.

Malaysians were warmed by the interaction, with some praising the cycle of help and assistance as a way to build a better society.

He has reminded us all at the House of Hope of the purpose we serve and the hands we hold. ❤️

House of Hope

House of Hope is a non-profit organization that provides aid to underprivileged families and aims to break the cycle of poverty.

They help these communities by providing food, clothing, educational programs, temporary financial relief, medical assistance, and even haircuts for the elderly!

It only goes to show how impactful one small act of charity can be, and how sometimes one small act of kindness is all it takes to change lives for the better.
