It came as a shock to the entire world when Hollywood actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson revealed that he and his family have tested positive for Covid-19.
In an in-depth 11-minute video posted on Instagram, The Rock revealed that he, his wife Lauren Hashian, and two young daughters – aged 2 and 4 years old- picked up the virus from a very close family friend who had no idea that they were infected.
My wife Lauren, as well as my two baby girls and myself, we have all tested positive for Covid-19. I can tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family and for me personally too as well… and I’ve gone through some doozies in the past.

The good news is that the family has recovered, but the experience of having Covid-19 was not pleasant.
While his young daughters bounced back from a sore throat after a couple of days, The Rock says that he and his wife both had a “rough go.”
The 48 year old wrestler turned movie star described the experience as one of the most difficult things he’s ever had to endure, saying that it was far worse than any injuries, being evicted or even being broke.
My number one priority is to always protect my family, protect my children, my loved ones. I wish it was only me who tested positive, but it wasn’t…so this was a real kick in the gut.

From this experience, the actor decided to share his takeaways from this experience.
One of the main things he highlighted was that there needed to be “even greater discipline” when it comes to visiting with friends and family.
He said his friends were “very disciplined” when it came to social distancing and kept to self-quarantine, yet they still contracted the coronavirus.
Be very,very disciplined, take precautions because you never know. Be extra cautious and don’t let your guard down.

He also advised his fans to boost their immune system , and most importantly, to wear a face mask.
It is the responsible thing to do, but also, not only for yourself or for your family or loved ones, but also for your fellow human beings… I am not a politician, I am a man who cares about my family deeply and will do everything I can to protect them, but I am also a man who cares about all of you guys.
