Aman Jaya will be under the Targeted Movement Control Order (TEMCO) starting midnight, said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The TEMCO will start from 28 August 2020 until a period that will be informed by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and involves three zones in Aman Jaya:

  • Kenanga
  • Mawar
  • Melur

Ismail said it will involve 22,360 residents and 265 families, all of whom will be screened by health ministry officials.

Just like any other TEMCO area, Ismail said, residents in the zone are not allowed to leave the zone while outsiders are not allowed to enter.

The police will also be present at the area, Ismail said, along with the Malaysian Armed Forces to implement roadblocks and monitor the situation.

Public places such as mosques and houses of worship as well as schools including nurseries will not be allowed to operate during the TEMCO period.

Only business premises providing necessary services such as eateries, grocery stores, stalls, petrol stations, grocery stores, pharmacies, clinics and hospitals will be allowed to open for now.

Restaurants and eateries can only use the take away method and can only operate from 8 am to 8 pm. Clinics and hospitals are allowed to operate 24 hours, while operating hours of pharmacies and drug stores are allowed until 8 pm only. Gas stations and grocery stores can operate from 8 am to 8 pm.

Regarding the premises being banned during the period, Ismail stressed that other premises including factories are prohibited from operating.

Apart from that, he said, night market and farmers market operations are also not allowed but daily market operations are only allowed from 6 am to 2 pm.

Individuals who need to go out to work will not be allowed to leave the area during the TEMCO period and only the head of the family or one member of the family is allowed to go out for the purpose of purchasing food or family needs.

Regarding leaving the area for emergency cases, Ismail said it’s possible for them to do so but they need the necessary documents from authorities.
