16 New Cases Detected Today, 12 Of Them Are Local Cases
Most of the local cases originate from the Sala or Tawar cluster.

The Ministry of Health has reported 16 new cases today (19 August) – 12 local cases and 4 imported cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases nationwide to 9,235.
Below is the breakdown according to state for local cases:
- Johor – 1 case (ship screening)
- Kedah – 7 cases (4 Tawar Cluster, 3 Sala cluster)
- Penang – 4 cases (Tawar cluster)
As for the 4 import cases, 3 were reported in Kuala Lumpur involving foreign workers and 1 case in Labuan from a ship screening.
No deaths have been reported for today and currently, there are 183 active cases – 7 of them placed under intensive care and 3 patients requiring respiratory assistance.
MOH has also reported that 23 patients have recovered from the virus as of 19 August, with the total number now at 8,925 cases.

Antara kes tempatan ialah 8 kes dari Kluster Tawar dan 3 kes dari Kluster Sala.
Tiada kematian dan kluster baharu dilaporkan hari ini.
