K. Kanniesh Theeran has has made the country proud after bagging first prize in the 2020 State-Fish Art Contest under the international category.
His painting of a Chinese Pangasius Catfish won him a certificate, letter of achievement and a trophy.
Kangathevi Ponnudorai, Theeran’s mother, said that the Year Three pupil has always shown interest in arts.
Meanwhile, his younger sister, Kanniesh Shindavy, a Year Two student, also made the family proud as her artwork was selected to be part of the Lucia Bocchino Fund for Promising Young Artists’ 2020 International Virtual Exhibition.
She drew a picture of her mother for the theme; “Who is the woman in your life that inspires you?”
Both seem to have great ambitions as well, according to their mother, as Theeran aspires to be a politician while his sister, Kanniesh wants to be a lawyer when she grows up.
