While elaborate cake customization isn’t exactly the norm at Secret Recipe, one particularly creative employee at the Star Avenue Subang outlet has proven herself to be the exception – the delight of hungry Malaysians.
Meet Nurul Aina Abu Bakar, the Secret Recipe waiter whose elaborately delicious custom cake designs have gone viral on social media.
First introduced to social media by Twitter user @wafanorsyazana in an online call for Secret Recipe to recognise Nurul Aina’s amazing talent, the post has since exploded with over 11,000 retweets and 16,000 likes.

Among the artistic creations in Nurul Aina’s repertoire include illustrations of the Raja Permaisuri Agong for her birthday, one of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin with the advice to stay at home and a special thank you to frontline workers.
Since the widespread appreciation on social media, the talented 23-year-old told Malay Mail that she has been promoted to a service coordinator position, along with a certificate and some cash as a reward from her superior.
In case you’re wondering how Nurul Aina picked up this delicious skill, she explained that it was all from online platforms with no professional training at all.
But she has always loved colouring and art since she was a child, and it’s clear that her passion has paid off with the praises heaped upon her.
So if you’re looking for a special cake for a special occasion, you know who to look for cake customisation!
