National courier service Pos Malaysia has announced that it will suspend all outbound international mail, parcel and Express Mail Service (EMS) services to all international destinations, except Singapore, beginning 3 August.

The national courier service also states that the suspension will continue until further notice.

In a statement, Pos Malaysia assures that all international mails and parcels accepted for posting before 3 August are not affected and will be delivered accordingly.

It also says the suspension is due to service impacts related to Covid-19, which include varying levels of restrictions across destination countries on flights, airport closures and cross border services.

However, Pos Malaysia does provide the AsiaXpress international courier service as an alternative for the delivery of international mail and parcels.

A subsidiary of Pos Malaysia, the AsiaXpress service is available at selected post offices and PosLaju centres. (Check HERE).

For inbound international mail and parcels into the country, Pos Malaysia clarifies that they are beyond the carrier’s control and subject to clearance procedures and lockdown situations at the country of origin.

Updates will be released on the Pos Malaysia website and social media channels. For any enquiries, customers can chat with Pos Malaysia via AskPos at the website (HERE).
