If the travel restrictions currently in place has dashed dreams of visiting Korea any time soon, McDonald’s Malaysia is offering a pretty sweet alternative by transforming their Putrajaya Drive-Thru restaurant into a “little Soul” for three weeks!

In conjunction with their latest ‘Discover the World’ campaign, the restaurant in Presint 2, Putrajaya is an actual “Seoul Experience” with the crew decked in traditional Korean outfits as thematic lanterns and decor transform the fast food joint into a Korean fantasy land.

There’s even whimsical outdoor backdrops for customers to indulge in a little “vacation mode” photoshoot.

McDonald’s Malaysia Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Melati Abdul Hai said that the fast food company wanted to fulfil people’s yearning for travel by using food to transport them to their favourite destinations.

That is what we aim to achieve by bringing ‘Seoul’ to our Putrajaya restaurant – a true Korean experience right here in Malaysia.

Of course, the food she refers to is the wildly popular limited-edition Spicy Korean Burger that comes with a beef and chicken iteration served with a special Spicy Korean sauce – or as McDonald’s calls them “Daebak” which is a Korean slang that means “wow” or “awesome”.

To spice things up even further, McDonald’s Malaysia has also introduced the #McDaebak TikTok Challenge that rewards participants with a 30% discount on their next Spicy Korean Burger purchase. But the real prize is the McDonald’s cash vouchers up to RM3,000 for the best entries.

All you have to do is record a video biting into the Spicy Korean Burger and show the “Daebak” transformation version of themselves to the song “Clap” on TikTok.
