In a special live address to the nation, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin warns that the country could be forced into another Movement Control Order (MCO) period if Covid-19 cases jump exponentially.

With the recent double-digit rise in cases and the emergence of new Covid-19 infection clusters across the country, the PM told Malaysians to remain disciplined and stick by the rules during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

Muhyiddin said that the nation’s economy would suffer greatly if another lockdown was installed and that the costs paid as well as all the hard work made by each and every Malaysian throughout the past few months, would be wasted.

The PM adds that Malaysia would lose an estimated RM2 billion per-day if the country goes into another MCO, effectively impacting the livelihoods of Malaysians.

“So what must we do? Don’t get foolish and careless…”

Furthermore, Muhyiddin also revealed that the government is contemplating on enforcing a mandatory mask rule for all public spaces, nationwide.

The decision is yet to be made and any updates would be announced by the authorities soon.
