Sepang Remains The Only Covid-19 Yellow Zone In Selangor

As Malaysia’s local Covid-19 infection cases drops to zero, Sepang remains the only yellow zone district in Selangor.

As of July 15, the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) reported that all areas in Selangor are now ‘green’, except for Sepang, with one active patient remaining in Dengkil and another 10 active cases in Labu.

Based on the Malaysian Health Ministry (MOH) guidelines, Covid-19 ‘hotspots’ are divided into three categories; Red zones are areas where there are more than 40 active infections. Yellow zones are areas with one to 40 active cases, and green zones are areas with no cases at all.

Selangor had among the highest number of Covid-19 cases across the country. In total, the state encountered 2,093 cases, 1,886 recoveries, and 24 deaths.

Meanwhile, to address the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Selangor state government announced the Selangor Economic Recovery Plan.

The plan, valued at RM55.85 billion will focus on rebuilding Selangor’s economy, focusing on food security and agriculture, economic sustainability and infrastructure development, as well as capacity building where the state endeavors to improve upon and venture into high-value industries.
