Sarawak Has Been Officially Declared A Covid-19 Green Zone

The state of Sarawak confirmed to have returned to being a Covid-19 green zone yesterday, with the total number of active cases in the state being below 10.
What you need to know: According to Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said that teachers entering Sarawak after the school break will not be required to quarantine.
All visitors traversing Brunei by land to cross the Sarawak border will not need to obtain approval from the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) or the police.
However, air travellers staying one night, or on transit to Brunei will still require JPBN’s approval to enter the state, and it is still compulsory for individuals returning from abroad to take a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) Covid-19 test upon arrival.
They will also need to be quarantined until their test results were confirmed to be negative. Following this, they are required to home quarantine and a second test sample will be taken on the 10th day.
What’s next: The Sarawak Ministry of Housing and Local Government has enhanced operation guidelines for the retail sector in the state, such as laundry centres, garment and fashion accessory outlets, and cinemas with immediate effect.
How it got here: The state’s Covid-19 zone status changed to green after Kuching, the only district left to be a yellow zone switched to green after 14 days of no new positive cases.
