The 2020 Hajj season shall continue as scheduled, but only for the people living in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Arabian government will allow a limited number of Muslims; Saudi citizens and foreigners who are currently living in the country, to perform the annual Hajj pilgrimage, which is set to begin in July.

Limits on this year’s Hajj season is, of course, due to safety concerns following the Covid-19 pandemic.

Previously, the Saudi Arabian government had announced a temporary hold on all Hajj and Umrah related activities as the country went into Covid-19 lockdown, something that hasn’t been done in almost 90 years.

And countries around the world, including Malaysia, had earlier decided to postpone sending Muslim pilgrims to the Holy Land in response to the pandemic.
