TNB: Further Discounts Means Free Electricity From April To June This Year For Most Consumers

The government has announced an additional RM942mil in discounts and rebates for electricity bills for domestic users across the country.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Dr Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said that the Bantuan Prihatin Elektrik Tambahan is in addition to the existing Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) electricity bill discounts that were announced during the economic stimulus package.
Speaking during a press conference today (Saturday, 20 June) he said that this would mean four million domestic consumers with electricity consumption of 300kWh and below per month will have free electricity for April, May, and June this year.
Meanwhile, domestic consumers with electricity consumption of more than 300kWh per month would get a discount of RM77 per month over the same period.
The rebates mentioned above would be reflected in the users July bill.
On top of that, TNB has also announced that they will stop all electricity disconnection activities until 30 September 2020.
