Malaysians can travel to Sarawak without having to undergo the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test three days before leaving the state.

The state’s Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) Chairman, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said random samples will be taken among arrivals at the state’s main sea and land entry points.

He also advised visitors to download the Sarawak COVIDTrace and Qmunity apps for digital contact tracing.

Previously, he said, Sarawakians returning from overseas will be quarantined for 14 days and are required to undergo a health screening on the 10th day.

However, foreigners entering the state with valid work permits and visas, including My Malaysia Second Home Programme (MM2H) participants will be required to undergo 14-day quarantine as well.

Bernama also reported that JPBN has allowed public gatherings with a maximum attendance of 100 people depending on the size of the venue and participants are required to comply with preventive measures.
