Minister: Rapid KL Not Allowed To Remove Social Distancing Rules On Trains, It’s Here To Stay

Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has stated that Rapid KL is not allowed to end social distancing rules on its trains and stations for the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) following their announcement earlier today.

Speaking to reporters at his daily MCO briefing, the Senior Minister said that Rapid Rail (operator of Rapid KL) has no authority to make the changes without seeking prior approval from the National Security Council.

RapidKL earlier today announced the ending of social distancing measures at its trains and stations was in line with the said the  standard operating procedure (SOP) issued by the Transport Ministry for the RMCO period, which grants 100% capacity to all rail services except ETS and KTM Intercity.
