The state of Selangor is now free of Covid-19 red zones.

Several Selangor districts have been re-classified as Covid-19 yellow zones following a decrease in active cases.

According to the Selangor Task Force Covid 19 (STFC) Facebook page, with Hulu Bernam and Hulu Yam now in the green, a total 32 mukims in the state are now classified as official green zones.

Meanwhile, the district of Petaling turned from red to yellow, following a drop in active cases, while Kuala Selangor was re-designated from green to yellow after 4 mukims recorded active Covid-19 cases.

Active cases in Selangor are currently concentrated in Gombak, Klang, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Sepang, and Sabak Bernam.

As of writing, 6 new Covid-19 cases were identified in the state, leaving the state’s total infection count to date at 1,650.

However, Selangor residents are still strictly prohibited from visiting graves and burial grounds during the nationwide Conditional Movement Control Order (COMC) period.

The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) explained that Muslims are not allowed to visit cemeteries or royal tombs during the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration to prevent a Covid-19 outbreak.

Cemetery caretakers have been tasked to assist the state in maintaining the ban, to prevent all members of society, including the royals from breaking the rules.

Selangoreans are also reminded that interstate travel during the CMCO is still illegal and are advised to spend the upcoming holidays in moderation.
