Malaysians with Permanent Resident (PR) status who have left the country will not be allowed to return until after the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) has ended.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said if they are currently here and wish to go back to the country that granted them the PR status, they can do so but they can’t come back.
The Malay Mail reported that Ismail Sabri said a total of 655 Malaysians have returned home and were subsequently quarantined yesterday.
As of 17 April, 36,900 Malaysians have been put under mandatory quarantine since 3 April, with 28,984 of them allowed to return home after completing the process.
As part of the country’s efforts to reduce the severity of the Covid-19 pandemic, the government previously has closed its borders, banning tourists from entering the country.
