There will be no parliamentary debate after the 10am speech by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on 18 May.
This is according to a press statement signed by Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof.
In the statement, Mohamad Ariff says Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the measure was taken due to the threat of Covid-19 in the country.
18 May would have been the first time members of parliament had convened since Perikatan Nasional took over the Federal Government.
Some of the motions that had already been approved for debate included a vote of no-confidence against Muhyiddin by his predecessor Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
