The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) says that it has begun distributing approved i-Lestari account withdrawals to Malaysians.
The i-Lestari initiative was announced by the government as a measure to supplement the rakyat during the Covid-19 crisis. It allows EPF contributors to withdraw up to RM500 a month from their retirement fund and help them get by financially.
According to the EPF, approved withdrawal applications amounting to RM1.66 billion will be allocated to over 3 million applicants via online transfers between May 4 and 18.
