In the latest episodes of Malaysian VVIP “caught” during the nationwide Movement Control Order (MCO), the eldest daughter of Umno President Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, is being called in by the police to testify for allegedly breaching lockdown restrictions.

Datuk Nurul Hidayah Ahmad Zahid was previously called out by Malaysians for being out and about during the MCO, on what the consensus points out to be, non-essential, unofficial business.

In a series of postings made on her personal Instagram account, Nurul Hidayah had shared images of herself and her husband Datuk Saiful Nizam Mohd Yusoff, visiting the Religious Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Al-Bakri at his office in Putrajaya.

Apparently the couple had met with the minister to discuss matters relating to Islam, and the “frustrations” and “anxieties” of the Muslim community.

During the same day, the couple also shared their encounter with Deputy Environment Minister Datuk Dr Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad, who Nurul Hidayah described as a long time family friend, for unspecified reasons.

In addressing criticism and concerns by the public on her outdoor activities during the MCO, Nurul Hidayah had essentially insisted for the rakyat to lodge an official police report, if her actions were in violation of the lockdown.

“No one is above the law. If anyone thinks that I’ve violated the MCO by visiting the minister and deputy minister on official business, please come forward and make a police report. I’m ready to cooperate. This is not about politics or who’s invulnerable. Courage in the face of truth!”, writes Nurul Hidayah in a posting on Instagram.

It is reported that Nurul Hidayah and her husband are expected to provide a statement to PDRM’s D5 Classified Criminal Investigation Unit at Bukit Aman on April 24.

Additionally, as far as we’ve checked, Nurul Hidayah and her husband hold no official positions within the Perikatan Nasional government’s administration.
