Malaysia Airlines now requires all passengers to bring and wear their own face masks to prevent the spread of Covid-19 on their planes.

Starting 23 April 2020, passengers need to wear their protective face masks at all touch-points such as check-in, boarding, in the aircraft cabin, disembarkation, and at baggage collection on arrival.

For passengers’ own comfort, especially on long haul flights, you are advised to bring additional masks and hand sanitizers for your own use.

In a statement, Malaysia Airlines wrote that this requirement applies to all their passengers travelling on all domestic, international and chartered flights. Exceptions are provided for infants.

They said that the move was to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of all passengers and airline employees, stressing that they would not accept any passengers that do not have or refuse to wear a face mask at the time of check-in and boarding.

They also reminded passengers to respect personal space of others and observe social distancing where required and requested that all passengers comply with other safety measures in their pre-departure and arrival processes to ensure a safe and comfortable journey.
