One of the few things that brought a smile to our faces during the Movement Control Order (MCO) was the kind actions of a policeman who rescued a puppy stuck in a drain while on duty in Shah Alam.
The footage of the puppy rescue mission went viral and Corporal Mohd Azad Azady Mohd Tarmizee was lauded as a hero by Malaysians online.
It seems that his noble need has also melted the hearts of the palace as the policeman has received a letter of commendation from Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.
Tengku Permaisuri Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin is known to be quite fond of animals, serving as the royal patron of the Stray Free Selangor (SFS) programme by Society For The Prevention of Cruelty To Animals (SPCA Selangor).
On 15th April, Corporal Mohd Azad Azady received the letter praising his actions from Muhammad Syahir Hasan, Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah’s assistant private secretary.
The ceremony was shared by the Shah Alam Police Department on their Facebook page, where the kind hearted policeman is attached under the mobile patrol vehicle unit of the Shah Alam IPD Community Crime Prevention and Security Division.
Hats off to Corporal Mohd Azad Azady for inspiring us with his kindness during these difficult times!
