Eventhough bazaars won’t be around for this year due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Malaysians are still trying keep the Ramadhan spirit alive by going digital.

A group of students from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) recently created the JomBuka app that aims to be a platform for bazaar traders nationwide.

They were inspired by popular food delivery applications to design an app that emphasizes on ease of use.

To order, customers can browse the goods offered at their website and once clicking the ‘Order Now’ button, they will be redirected to the traders’ WhatsApp contact number to complete the purchase.

Traders will deliver the food but if they are unable to do so, the platform will offer alternatives for them to send it to their customers including GrabParcel.

JomBuka is creation of Muhammad Hafiz Shaifull Naim, Sofia Humaira Hishamuddin and Shazwani Mohammad and Muhammad Syahir Muhammad Yusli, who are students of the university.
