You might’ve noticed that the Health Ministry (MoH) has been categorising certain areas in the country hit with Covid-19 cases as different “zonesâ€.
These zones are actually denoted by MoH based on the number of cases in an area for the second phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO). Based on this classification, there are four zones, green, yellow, orange and red.
Green zones refer to areas with no positive Covid-19 cases.
Yellow zone areas have up to 20 positive cases.
Orange zone is for areas with 21 to 40 positive cases.
Lastly, the red zone refers to areas with more than 40 positive cases.
According to the National Security Council (MKN) which outlined these details, an enhanced movement control order (EMCO) was implemented in certain areas classified as red zones based on the advice of the MoH when a sudden spread of the virus is detected in that locality.
