Malaysia Records 2 New Deaths From COVID-19

Two more COVID-19 casualties have been reported today by the Ministry of Health (MOH), bringing the total now to 45 deaths.

An 80-year-old woman (case 193) and a 62-year-old man (case 1053) were the latest fatalities from the coronavirus and both were treated at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

The 80-year-old is the country’s 44th death case from the coronavirus and it was reported that she was suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and heart complications prior to the infection.

Meanwhile, the 62-year-old man had a history of high blood pressure and diabetes. He is the country’s 45th fatality from the coronavirus.

As of April 1, 142 cases have been reported bringing the total to 2,908.

Out of that number, 102 patients are placed under intensive care and 66 patients needed breathing assistance.

According to MOH, 43,462 patients have been screened for the virus with 32,894 negative cases while 7,660 cases are waiting for the results. The Ministry also reported that 645 patients have recovered from the coronavirus.
