How To Get PRIHATIN Cash Handout for B40 & M40

Following the economic downturn caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced the Prihatin Rakyat Economic Stimulus Package that offered utilities aid, aid to B40 and M40 households, pensioners as well as employers and employees.

Here’s some important details about the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) cash handouts that you need to know.

Application for BPN cash handout

Not needed.

The money is automatically approved for B40 individuals and households approved under the Living Costs Aid scheme (BSH). For M40 individuals and households, it’s automatically approved for those who are registered taxpayers under the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).

If you have not registered yet, new applications can be made starting 1st April on LHDN’s website (HERE). Applications for BSH can be made via the website (HERE).

FYI, full time students are not eligible for the BPN cash aid.

Receiving the money

Households and singles will receive the BPN via their bank accounts linked to BSH and LHDN, respectively.

For B40 individuals without a bank account, they can collect the cash at Bank Simpanan Nasional.

In the M40 household, the payment will be deposited into the LHDN-linked bank account of the head of household.

BPN cash handout distribution timeline 

The money will be disbursed in two phases based on the qualifying criteria, at the end of April and May.

For new applicants, or those who are newly registered, the cash handout will be handed in one lump sum in May 2020.
