Health Ministry Needs More Volunteers To Help Frontliners
The Ministry of Health has asked for more health and medical volunteers to help frontliners in the fight against COVID-19.
Currently, there are 157 people assigned and will be stationed in stages, while another 1,008 from various medical professions are set to join the hospital team.
Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a Facebook post that considering the current predicament faced by the country, the Ministry is calling for more professionals to step up and help.
He also said that the Ministry has also increased their manpower through the hiring of 3,000 staff members including doctors, nurses and medical assistants.
They will be stationed at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) that has been modified to become a quarantine and medical centre in anticipation of more COVID-19 cases.
