It looks as though fear and paranoia over Covid-19 has gotten people on edge all across the land AND the sea.

A captain of a Thai fishing boat had the unfortunate experience of being thrown overboard by his own crew over suspicions that he had the coronavirus.

The 40-year-old sailor apparently had been coughing, sneezing and had caught a fever during his few nights fishing at sea.

It was then that his crew staged a mutiny, per se, forcing him to “walk the plank” with nothing but the clothes on his back.

The man then had to swim a kilometer to seek refuge on a small island off the coast of Terengganu as his crew sailed away with his boat back to Thailand.

He was later discovered by local fishermen before being rescued by Malaysia’s Marine Police Force and is now undergoing quarantine at a detention center in Marang.

Just this week, a group of young men in Penang had jumped into the ocean to escape law enforcement after they were found disobeying the Movement Control Order (MCO).

You jump I jump! Disobeying the MCO means jailtime.

With still two weeks to go until the MCO comes to an end (hopefully…) who knows what other wet and wild stories would turn up this quarantine season.
