While many anxiously scramble to find face masks as they go grocery shopping during the movement control order (MCO), it seems that some have found an ingenious solution.
Unassuming shoppers at a supermarket in Damansara Perdana, Petaling Jaya witnessed a bizarre sight as a Tyrannosaurus rex joined them in their supply run on Day 6 of the MCO.
Much to the delight of fellow shoppers, the T-Rex was spotted waddling around the supermarket, picking out groceries while pushing a trolley.
Of course, images and videos of the shopping dinosaur popped up on social media and it wasn’t long before the T-Rex was unmasked as local actress Betty Rahmad.
Sharing her experience on Instagram, Betty expressed her delight in bringing smiles to people’s faces on her birthday – especially to the supermarket staff who are on duty in these uncertain times.
Meanwhile in Pahang, Spiderman was seen out getting food supplies as well.
The man behind the mask was not Peter Parker, but a Malaysian named Faizal who figured this was the best way to get full body protection during the outbreak.
Taking to Facebook, Faizal shared snapshots of the webbed superhero from picking out fish to pondering at the refrigerated section and more.
These two creative folks certainly had some dino-mite ideas to keep things light while we brace the Covid-19 pandemic. Those solutions probably didn’t help keep them fully safe, but sure warmed hearts.
FYI, the Health Ministry has also stated that it is not necessary to wear a face mask in public if you do not have flu-like symptoms – coughing, sneezing and fever. Remember to practice social distancing and wash your hands frequently with soap.
Stay safe, everyone!
