Another Two Fatalities Push Malaysia’s Death Toll For COVID-19 To Eight

Just as we were processing the fourth, fifth, and sixth deaths today, the Health Ministry now announces that two more have passed away due to COVID-19, bringing the total death toll to eight.

According to a statement posted in their Telegram channel, the Health Ministry said the seventh victim was a 57-year-old man with travel history to Vietnam and close contact with a positive case from the cluster of tabligh event attendees.

The patient was admitted to Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) on 18 March after developing symptoms. His health then deteriorated and he passed away at 3.22pm today (21 March 2020).

Meanwhile, the eighth victim is a 69-year-old man from the cluster of the tabligh event attendees. He started developing symptom on 12 March and was admitted to Hospital Tumpat on 16 March. 

He was later transferred to Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II, Kota Bahru Kelantan on 18 March when his health started to deteriorate as well. He passed away at 4pm today (21 March 2020).
