A 25-year-old woman was charged in court for setting up her very own dental braces fitting service without having a licence.

Nurul Rohaizaz Farhana Syuhada Zazli pleaded guilty to setting up a dental clinic at her home in Bentong, Pahang.

She was charged under Section 27 of the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act 1998 for providing private dental services without valid registration.

This carries a maximum sentence of 6 years imprisonment or a fine of RM300,000 or both.

The DIY dentist was slapped with a RM50,000 fine for her illegal practice and would be facing a 10-month jail sentence if she fails to pay the amount.

In 2017, another fake dentist by the name of Nur Farahanis Ezatty Adliwas also charged for the same offence.

Though this should already be common sense… You should NEVER seek out medical treatment from unlicensed, uncertified and unregistered practitioners.

For those looking to get their teeth fixed, please look for ACTUAL licenced specialist instead of these cheap, bogus dentists…

You may visit the Malaysian Association of Orthodontists (MAO) webpage at www.mao.org.my for info and listings of registered orthodontist in the country.
