Marvel just announced 5 movies and 5 television series coming to the MCU

Last weekend saw Avengers: Endgame officially surpassing James Cameron’s Avatar at the box-office as the highest-grossing movie of all time.

And with Spider-Man: Far From Home being the eleventh and final instalment in Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the world had been waiting in immense anticipation for the next chapter in the ever-expanding and action-packed multiverse that is the MCU

Those questions were finally answered as Marvel Studios’ announce their roster of upcoming MCU movies and episodic series coming to cinemas as well as Disney’s upcoming video streaming service, Disney+, at the San Diego Comic-Con festival over the weekend.

A total of five movies and five different television series will be gracing our boring, and meaningless lives next year. So let’s have a look at what Phase Four has in store for the MCU;

Black Widow

That’s right, to officially kick off the next phase of the MCU, our very own deadly-seductive, secret spy Avenger will finally be getting her own movie, and it’s been a long time coming too.

Though we’re still not sure how the movie will play out since the beloved Natasha Romanoff did die in the last Avengers movie. Rumour has it that the movie will answer lingering questions on Blackwidow and Hawkeye’s missions in Budapest.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier

With the mantel of Captain America falling firmly on the shoulders of Sam Wilson AKA The Falcon, fans will surely be anticipating the wildly hilarious adventures that await Sam and Bucky in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier series coming to Disney+ next year.

The Eternals

Introducing a new lineup of super-fantastic characters, the release of Marvel’s The Eternals will surely be an amazing addition to the cosmic undertaking that is the MCU.

Featuring immortal aliens from a distant world, the movie stars world-famous actress Angelina Jolie and set to be one of the main highlights in the next chapter of the Marvel adventure.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Stating Simu Liu and American actress and rapper Awkwafina, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be the telling of Marvel Comic’s own “Master of Kung Fu” who became an honorary Avenger.

Fans might recognize the film’s main villain, The Mandarin which was played by Ben Kingsley introduced back in Iron Man 3. But we don’t think that this Mandarin will be as fake as the last one though… Guess we’ll just have to wait and see then.

WandaVision

Stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are set to reprise their roles as the super-couple Scarlet Witch and Vision and continue on their epic adventures in this original series set to stream exclusively on Disney+ next spring.

The series will also see an adult version of the verbose “Lieutenant Trouble”, Monica Rambeau from MCU’s Captain Marvel as one of the main characters in the series.

Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness

With the latest Spider-man movie already teasing the concept of a vast interconnective multiverse in the MCU, fans will be eagerly awaiting the revelations that will be brought forward with the second instalment to the ongoing story of the “Master of the Mystic Arts” when Benedict Cumberbatch returns as Doctor Strange next May.

Loki

No need introductions here… Your favourite “God of Mischief” will be coming to Disney+ in his very own series.

Following Tom Hiddleston as Loki, the series is set to continue where Avengers: Endgame had left our dearest not so good, not too evil super-villain when he managed to escape death with the help of the Tesseract.

What If…?

Following events from the eyes of The Watchers, a race of super-powerful celestial beings who linger within the vast Marvel universe the series will be the first animated show set in the MCU.

The What If storyline questions what would happen if some things had gone differently in the MCU. (Like, what if Iron Man didn’t die, what if Captain America never went back in time. What if Black Panther and Storm actually got together…)

Hawkeye

Alright now, jokes aside on how useless a man with a bow an arrow is against forces beyond the human comprehension… Jeremy Renner will be back as Hawkeye in his very own series coming to Disney+ in the Fall of 2021.

Now that we know where we are going, let’s see how we get there…

Thor: Love and Thunder

When we last saw Thor, he had just abdicated his throne as the rightful ruler of Asgard and joined the likes of Quill, Rocket, Groot and Drax to form what he called “The Asgardians of the Galaxy”.

With Marvel announcing that they’ll be bringing the female version of the God of Thunder to the big screen with Natalie Portman taking up the mantle of Thor. Will this mean that Chirs Hemsworth’s Fat-Thor is here to stay?

Guess we’ll have more on that when the movie comes out in 2021.

Blade

Saving the very best for last, Marvel announced the official coming of Blade into the MCU.

The film will star actor Mahershala Ali as the legendary vampire hunter taking over the mantel from Wesley Snipes who played the hero in the last trilogy.

So there you go. The full list of upcoming MCU movies and series bound to keep you occupied for the days to come.
