Malaysian girl’s Instagram account blocked after posting a snippet of Toy Story 4 on her story
Remember last year when netizens bashed a Malaysian celebrity who posted a few seconds of Avengers on her Insta Story?
Some said she only got bashed because she posted ‘spoilers,’ nonetheless, you aren’t supposed to record a movie in a cinema…
This year, a Malaysian was blocked by Instagram when she posted a few seconds of Toy Story 4 on her story feed.
On her Facebook account, she shared the email sent to her by Instagram.
In the email she was warned that she could even have her account permanently disabled if she continued to post content that breaches the law.
This post has been removed from her Facebook.
Her being blocked 3 days from Instagram, is the least of her worries really.
Under the Copyright Act 1987 law, having a recording device in a screening room could cost you a fine between RM10,000 and RM100,000, and/or a jail sentence of not more than 5 years!
Would you risk recording a few seconds of your favourite scene only to be slapped with an ugly fine?
We hope, this serves a reminder to all moviegoers that there are eyes everywhere.
Especially when the second email Instagram sent to her informed that they acted upon a third-party complaint.
