Tax rebate for eco-friendly houses in PJ
You can redeem up to RM500 in tax rebates if you’re implementing green initiatives at your house, to be credited to your account or carried forward to the following year.
This assessment tax rebate scheme is being offered by Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) to reward house-owners who have eco-friendly property.
If you are already using LED lighting, energy-saving electrical appliances, or habitually recycling items, you should apply for the tax rebate!
Eco-friendly systems include energy-efficient electrical appliances with five-star rating, a rain/wastewater recycling system, solar panels, or composting, among others.
The maximum rebate awarded is 100% or RM500, whichever is lower, open to all properties including landed and multi-storey residential properties such as flats, condos, or apartments.
The applicant must be a house-owner living in their own home and must not have tax arrears or illegal extensions to their premises.
Applicants will need to include their water and electricity bill for the latest three months together with the application, though the scheme covers five aspects – energy, water, waste, transportation, and biodiversity.
Selected experts will visit applicants’ homes to verify the submissions.
