Maya Karin is saying NO to Ramadhan Buffets
Malaysian actress Maya Karin yesterday tweeted about the absurd pricing for Ramadhan buffets.
In her tweet, she shared a list of Ramadhan buffets pricing between RM89.90++ and RM236++.
She’s already gotten almost 8,000 Retweets and 4,500 Likes.
I’m so fed up with the ridiculous prices of Ramadan buffets. And people and companies still pay! 150-200 for adults, 80-100 for kids! Kids! Apa yg diaorang makan? Nasi sikit, ayam sikit, or spagetti sikit. https://t.co/TFWxeWJ7Sn

And Twitterjaya agrees with her.
In the first place, like it or not, all-you-can-eat buffet is against the spirit of #Ramadan. All we need to break our fast is just a glass of water (or two) and a small portion of food. How can people eat until they’re full, and they’d keep eating until they can no longer eat 😫

Kan??! It doesnt make sense. I havent gone to one for years and I make exceptions if there are family/work events that I cant escape from. Bazar Ramadan prices also are crazy high

Some are quoting shocking numbers related to food wastage caused by these Ramadhan buffets which we wrote about recently as well.
Sister, Food wastage goes up 33% more during Ramadhan, according to the Minister @saifnasution Totally contrary to Islam or any other religion https://t.co/SFsPL3GEg0

Some Twitter users are sharing memes about the issue.

Today Maya Karin added a thread to her tweet, saying that she is refusing to go for buka puasa buffets on principle.
I refuse any hotel buka puasa buffet now. Principle.

Some are even standing up against the Ramadhan buffets with her.
That is some major TEA. Our family ditched the whole concept years ago as well, it’s ridiculous

I completely agree, that why I decline invited to this places and I let them know the reasons why, the money can be put to better use, the prices are just crazy high

Though if you still need to berbuka buffet style, they also shared some more affordable alternatives.
Kak Maya boleh berbuka dekat DARC. Affordable price with variety of food to be chosen and you can enjoy recreational activities there like horse riding and archery. The price already included with the activities too and the place is comfortable! Have a nice day ahead! 🖤 pic.twitter.com/b0MRIjpUO7
