Instagram is testing interfaces where the number of Likes and Followers are hidden from the public.
This was found by Jane Manchun Wong, a computer science student with a reputation for detecting hidden features and developments in popular apps.
Some people are not going to be happy about this.
But don’t worry guys, the numbers will still be available to the person who shared the post.
“We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get.”
Basically Instagram is trying to do their part in protecting us from mental health issues that are related to social media.
So, guess that means we should thank Instagram? If they do implement it, hopefully it does help with our mental health, and society survives the initial panic and rioting in the streets.
