Meet Malaysian ice skating phenom C. Sree Abiraame. She’s won 18 gold medals, 2 silver, and 1 bronze in the past 14 months.
She’s 7 years-old and will turn 8 in 2019.
Over the weekend, at the recent 14th Ice Skating Institute (ISI) Asia Skate Beijing 2019 in China, she won 5 gold medals and 1 silver medal.
The golds were for 6-7 years Artistic Freestyle 1, Solo Competition Freestyle 1, Freestyle 1, Speed Skating, and Open Freestyle Bronze while the silver medal was for Footwork 1.
Bernama reports that 483 skaters, representing 20 clubs from eight countries, participated in the tournament.
Last year, Abiraame won 4 gold medals in the ISI Asia Skate Shenzhen 2018 championships.
The same year, she won 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze at the Skate Asia Bangkok. That was despite sustaining a fall and injury.
And in February of 2018, she also won 5 gold medals at the Middle East 4th official ISI International Figure Skating tournament held at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
So… Yeah. That’s impressive and we’re simultaneously very proud of her and wondering what we’ve been doing our entire lives.
