SEOUL, 17 May 2016:

Asia’s leading female racer – Malaysian driver Leona Chin – has continued her dominant form over the weekend at the Korea International Circuit. Leona was the only female driver in the Korea round of the series.

Fresh from her first ever podium finish in Zhuhai in March, she now scored back-to-back second positions at the 2nd leg of the Renault Clio Cup China Series.

Competing in her unmistakable bright pink Team WebTVAsia car, Leona started both races at second spot next to overall series leader and Korean leg winner Kenneth Lim.

However unlike the Zhuhai stop where she had difficult track conditions, Leona adjusted much better this time, never relinquishing her top two positions.

Race 2 saw the more exciting contest with Leona going for the jugular from the start by overtaking Kenneth immediately, sparking a neck-to-neck race for over five laps before conceding the lead.

The Malaysian kept her cool and romped home second ahead of Ma Hon Wah.

“I pushed myself hard today knowing there’s a good chance of winning. Kenneth is always a tough competitor so I am happy to have improved from third (at the Zhuhai leg) to second in Korea.

“For sure I will aim for the top spot again in the next race in Buriram, Thailand,” said Leona during the post-race interview.

The Clio Cup Series travel to its third stop of a six-leg Asia tour at the Chang International Circuit, Thailand on June 11-12.

The championship will then return to China for the remaining races in Chengdu, Shanghai and Zhejiang.
