PUTRAJAYA, 23 March 2016:
Schools nationwide, including those in Perlis and Kedah will operate as usual tomorrow (March 24) following observation in the past 72 hours which found temperatures to be below 38 degrees Celsius.
Nevertheless, the education ministry in a statement here today, said all activities outside the classroom would still be put on hold until further notice.
It also advised school authorities to ensure adequate supply of clean drinking water for students, remain vigilant and cooperate with the nearest clinic or hospital in case of any emergency related to the hot weeather.
It directed state education departments and district education offices to monitor the situation and ensure school authorities complied with the directive.
On Monday, Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid announced that schools in Kedah and Perlis were ordered to be closed for two days from yesterday, due to the extreme hot weather.
