KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10, 2016:
Amanah president Mohamad Sabu said that Malaysians are not brave enough to stand up against tyranny.
Making a rather aggressive speech during the Himpunan Bebas Anwar, marking the first anniversary of former opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s incarceration at the Sungai Buloh Prison, yesterday, the former PAS deputy president, also known as Mat Sabu, said that the people lack conviction to fight against corruption which he describes is festering in the nation.
“Kami penakut, bersuara jantan tetapi di dalam hati betina (We are cowards, screaming like males but we are feminine at heart),” he said in a video posted by local news portal KiniTV, before tossing a microphone which he had in his hand.
Mat Sabu’s belligerent nature during the event received numerous comments from social media users who said that his behavior was rather uncalled for and does not reflect the demeanor of a political leader.
The video of the speech which was also shared on Amanah’s official Facebook page had received nearly 800 views as well as being circulated on other social media and news channels.
