A stunning purple-coloured limited edition Ferrari LaFerrari belonging to Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has been making waves in cyberspace.
The rare hypercar was seen a week ago at the Tan Sri Datuk Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin here during the friendly match between Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Geylang United on Jan 26.
The image of the car was uploaded on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page that same day.
The post on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page had since seen 21,689 likes and 245 comments.
However, it made no mention of the hypercar that Tunku Ismail arrived in. But several international automotive portals and also popular Malaysian automotive portal PaulTan (www.paultan.org) had picked up on the car.
Tunku Ismail was also believed to be the first Malaysian that had taken delivery of the distinctly-coloured Ferrari.
The Johor crown prince’s LaFerrari at start-up was also a available on YouTube (http://youtu.be/_wXw8OV6vXk) where it had garnered more than 33,871 views.
As with most of the Johor royals, including Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, the hypercar was customised and had a set of satin black five-spoke wheels, a gloss black roof and red brake calipers.
The limited run LaFerrari was very possibly the world’s fastest, most exciting hypercar.
It was considered among the rarest sport vehicles together with the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder to contend with.
However, the LaFerrari had more power (a whopping 950bhp) and less weight to carry around than its two other rivals.
