Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak will handle the Kedah Menteri Besar issue the best way he can.
“The Prime Minister is handling the issue the best he can,” Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh told reporters, referring to the crisis plaguing Kedah at the moment in which several quarters were urging for the removal of its MB Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
“I believe that the PM will make the best decision in this matter,” Idris, who is also Umno Supreme Council member said briefly, after attending the “Program Jelajah KPT-Soaring Upwards Bersama Menteri Pendidikan Tinggi” event at Stadium Darul Aman, here, today.
Idris had also noted that the matter was not discussed at the Umno Supreme Council meeting yesterday.
Najib, at a press conference after the Supreme Council meeting yesterday, informed the Supreme Council members that he had met with the Kedah Council of Regency on Friday morning.
The Umno president said the council had not rejected the names that were suggested to replace Mukhriz.
“It is not true (that the names were rejected). I will inform, there were no rejections. The meeting went well,” Najib had said yesterday.
