KLUANG, Jan 29, 2016:

In what can be described as a rare incident, firemen were called to assist and remove a man’s finger that was stuck in the radiator fan of his car here yesterday.

It was learnt that the victim, who is in his 40’s, was attempting to check his Proton car’s engine when he could not remove his finger in the 4pm incident.

The incident occurred at the victim’s home in Taman Sri Impian here.

Following that, the Kluang fire station immediately despatched two teams consisting of eight firemen after receiving a distress call at 4.37pm.

A Johor Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said the team arrived at the location at 4.46pm and proceeded to assist the victim.

“The operation was delicate and the team had to take time to remove certain car components in order to free the victim’s right hand.

“The operation was over after more than 30 minutes where the firemen managed to free the victim’s fingers from the car’s radiator fan,” said the spokesman.

The victim did not suffer any injuries during the incident.
