PUTRAJAYA, Jan 28, 2016:
The public services sector must continue to play a role as a facilitator to the private sector in ensuring that economic and development activities are implemented smoothly.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa said this would generate income to the government and raise the people’s financial standing while consolidating the country’s economy.
“The civil servants must continue efforts to raise their productivity and optimise spending in ministries and departments,” he said in light of the Budget 2016 recalibration announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, here, today.
Ali reminded civil servants not to be influenced by rumours and focus all their efforts in implementing the government’s policies.
The implementation, he said, especially revolved around the 11th Malaysia plan and measures announced by Najib today.
He added the civil servants must also put to rest the rumours that the government intended to cut salaries and allowances in the public sector.
