KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 27, 2016:
A former Umno leader filed a police report against Attorney-General (AG) Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali for possible abuse of power.
Following the report released regarding the RM2.6 billion fund probe, former Umno Batu Kawan deputy chief Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan has filed a police report today urging the authorities to conduct investigations on Mohamed Apandi for possible abuse of power.
“I urged the police to conduct an investigation on the Attorney-General for possible power abuse, criminal negligence, misrepresentation of facts and disturbing public servants from carrying out duties or their investigation in a transparent, independent and comprehensive,” he wrote in his latest Facebook post.
According to the post, he said that Apandi should not release a statement to the public regarding the case without disclosing the details of the report.
“Tan Sri Apandi Ali as the Attorney General cannot make a general statement without elaborating on the details of the results of the investigation conducted by MACC of which the report has been handed to the AG’s office.
“A comprehensive answer is important to maintain the image as well as the credibility of the AG in the eyes of the people especially during the recent public confidence issue towards the government,” he wrote.
He filed the report at Dang Wangi police station this afternoon and posted a snapshot of the report.
In Sep 2015, Khairuddin was arrested for attempting to sabotage the country’s banking and financial service.
He was held in Sungai Buloh Prison for two months.
