PUCHONG, Jan 22, 2016:
It will take time to look through the statement of Swiss citizen, Xavier Andre Justo as there are more than 200,000 e-mails to go through, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar says.
Khalid said police had just received the statement of the former Petro Saudi International executive which was recently taken in Thailand.
“We had just received it, we will look into it and search for evidence of document tampering.
“The statement was recorded in Thai language, and the translation just reached us yesterday, so give us some time,” he told reporters after attending a Community Policing gathering here today.
Justo, linked to unfavourable reports over 1Malaysia Development Bhd, was nabbed in Koh Sa Mui in June last year by Thai police acting on a warrant issued for his alleged extortion and blackmail activities.
In the ensuing days following the arrest, it had been revealed that confidential documents had been stolen and tampered with before being leaked to unscrupulous individuals.
Justo is currently serving a three-year sentence for attempting to blackmail his former employer using highly-sensitive corporate data.
