KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20, 2016:
Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) has no problems to allow PKR to keep its relationship with PAS.
Amanah President Mohamad Sabu, in saying this, noted that the newly-formed party would give space for both parties to maintain their ties.
“But what is clear is that come the next general election, we will contest under Pakatan Harapan,” he said, adding that on issues regarding PAS it was best that the questions be posed to the party instead.
“For us, PKR is in Pakatan Harapan.
“However we will allow for PKR’s current relationship with other parties to continue,” he said at a Press conference at Amanah’s headquarters here today.
Amanah communications director Khalid Samad said under the Pakatan Harapan agreement, working with other parties was allowed.
“However the Presidential Council must be made aware of this. Amanah has never made a fuss of PKR having a ceramah with PAS.
“The problem PAS has with PKR having a ceramah with Amanah is PAS’ problem,” he said.
He added that Amanah had an open policy and if it wanted to do any programmes it would let the Presidential Council know.
It was recently reported that Kelantan PAS had sent a warning letter to PKR after some PKR leaders were present at events organised by Amanah.
